Make-it-up-as-I-go Beef Stroganoff
Easy Cheaper version
Equipment
- Sunbeam 6L Slow Cooker
Ingredients
- 500 grams diced/cubed beef
- 2 Tbsp plain flour
- 2 chopped onions
- 1 tsp crushed garlic
- 2 x 220gms cans of Edgel sliced mushrooms in butter sauce
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 Tbsp cream (optional)
Instructions
- Dust beef in flour
- Lightly brown meat in oil and sweat onions and garlic (ie cook them briefly to soften)
- Add beef, onions and garlic to the slow cooker now
- Add canned mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, and paprika to slow cooker
- Mix altogether and season with salt and pepper
- Cook on low for 4 hours until meat is tender
- (Optional) stir through cream prior to serving
- Serve with mash potato and side veg
